The Give 50 Tribute: Linda and Kirby
50 years ago, Kirby Smith and Linda Rasmussen said, “I do”! They were married in Cloquet, Minnesota and immediately moved to Seattle, Washington to start their new life together. They launched right into ministry at their church and served the Lord together for 37 years until the Lord took Kirby home. While receiving comfort from the Lord and others, Linda continued ministering at her church, including leading a support group for widows. Upon retirement, Linda joined The Widows Project and then took her position with Mary Beth Woll as Co-Director.
Even though Kirby and Linda did not get to celebrate their 50th anniversary together, it is still a huge milestone to commemorate. In honor of the love they shared and their devotion to the Lord, we are establishing the “Give 50 Tribute”. We are asking you to prayerfully consider honoring Kirby and Linda by donating $50, $500, or $5000 to support the mission of The Widows Project, to care for the widowed in their distress (James 1:27).
Your generous gift will help us continue to bring comfort and healing to brokenhearted men and women around the world like Sheila, who said, “I was so sad that I was drowning in grief. I attended a few support group meetings with Linda and Mary Beth and their weekend Heartwork Retreat. My whole grief journey changed! Now I am able to share the love and grace Linda and Mary Beth gave me. I am so grateful for them and The Widows Project.”
On what would have been Linda and Kirby's 50th anniversary, we invite you to join us in celebrating a love that — though it looks different now — has never ended. Your gift of $50, $500, or $5,000 to this “Give 50 Tribute” honors Kirby and equips others who are walking the same road Linda has walked. Your generosity will help provide needed resources to continue to reach out to bring healing and hope to the brokenhearted.
