What do I do when half of me is gone?
By Mary Beth Woll
Dear Friend of HealingHope for the Widowed,
September was a month of celebrating God’s faithfulness. I had the privilege of returning to my home church in Cloquet, MN, for their 100th anniversary. What a joy to see the church there growing in their love for Jesus and the community around them. I also celebrated with Philadelphia Church in Seattle – 125 years and counting. God has blessed them in so many ways! Kirby and I invested 19 years of our lives there, and it was great to see God’s faithfulness to our friends and the congregation there too.
At HealingHope, we are continually reaching out to newly widowed men and women and nurturing those who have been on this journey for a longer time. Our weekly meetings are producing hope and healing. For instance, in our Ministry Widows group last Monday, a former pastor’s wife told us that this chapter in “Take Courage!” was just what she needed today. She received the God’s courage to move forward and reclaim her authority in Christ.
Psalm 36:5 says, “Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.” HealingHope for the Widowed is only 11 years old, but we are also dependent upon God’s love and faithfulness – and yours.
If you haven‘t already joined our Courage Circle, please consider this monthly commitment to our ministry to the widows and widowers who have joined this club no one wants to belong to – single again. God gives them special mention in His Word. We give them special attention in our groups, our books, and our media.
Thank you for your investment in men and women who are struggling through a very dark time. Your financial support and prayers mean the world to us – and them.
Thank you for helping us bring healing and hope to the widowed.
